Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament Raises $20,000 for Council Bluffs Schools Foundation
Council Bluffs, IA – The Council Bluffs Schools Foundation hosted its annual Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament on Friday, July 25 at Dodge Riverside Golf Club, raising $20,000 to support students, teachers, and families in the Council Bluffs Community School District.
With 25 teams representing alumni, community partners, and friends of the district, the event combined friendly competition with a shared commitment to public education. Team TJ claimed victory in the spirited Abraham Lincoln vs. Thomas Jefferson rivalry.
The Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Cox Communications, the tournament’s Presenting Sponsor, for their generous support, as well as to our Community Impact Sponsors: Google, Iowa Western Community College, John Dresher, American National Bank, and Joe Clanton with Better Homes and Gardens.
“We are so thankful to our sponsors and players who make this event a success year after year,” said Bridgette Watson, Executive Director. These funds help bring innovative classroom ideas to life and support students through enrichment and emergency assistance.”
Kyle Osborne, TeamMates of Council Bluffs Board President, shared, “This tournament has been such an impactful way to spread the word about mentoring while also supporting the mission of the Schools Foundation. Both of our organizations are working to help students thrive, and that’s only possible through support and partnership. Sponsoring a hole here gives us the chance to connect with the community and inspire more mentors to step up. If you haven’t sponsored a hole yet, you’re missing out—you should go FORE it!”
