Created in 1997, the STARS Scholarship program, an Iowa West Foundation Initiative, assists parents and custodial grandparents with college expenses that are beyond most financial aid packages.
The program is designed for Pottawattamie County residents who are low-income, full-time students pursuing a professional license or certificate, or an associate or bachelor’s degree at an accredited school, college or university.
Scholars are supported financially through the scholarship award and have the opportunity to participate in family activities, informational seminars, and cultural and sporting events that keep scholars and their families energized and focused on learning.
