Kelsey's Story

Upon enrollment, Kelsey, STARS scholar from 2019-2020, was a practicing cosmetologist for over 10 years+ it was in 2018 that Kelsey began pursuing her degree in business financial decision making at Bellevue University looking to take that career change. Kelsey’s biggest challenge was being able to pay for childcare for her two daughters. Kelsey says, "Having STARS help with my childcare expenses gave me the opportunity to attend classes full-time. In addition, as a single parent going to school later than the average student, Stars assisted me in creating goals within my educational plan to have a clearer path that I could not have found on my own in which gave me a sense of accomplishment and helped me build my confidence level”.

Kelsey graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in business financial decision making from Bellevue University in 2020 in which time she began her professional career at Trade Operations as the Accounting Assistant.

Kelsey currently celebrated her first year at Trade Operations, recently married and is looking forward to the future.
