Council Bluffs Schools Foundation raises $17,000 for Grants Program.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — The Council Bluffs Schools Foundation and the Alumni & Friends Network welcomed community members to the annual Cheers for CB Schools event on Friday, May 8, bringing together alumni, parents, educators, and supporters for an evening dedicated to celebrating and supporting the students and staff of the Council Bluffs Community School District.

Held at Full Fledged Brewing Company, the event took place at the close of Teacher Appreciation Week and featured live music from Touch of Grey, along with food from local vendors Kristin's Kitchen, Barley's, and Viva Fit. Guests also participated in raffle opportunities generously donated by local businesses and community supporters.

This year’s event raised $17,000 to directly benefit the Council Bluffs Community School District through the Foundation’s Annual Grants Program. These funds will help support innovative classroom projects, enhance instructional resources, and expand learning opportunities for students and staff across the district.

“This event is a wonderful reminder of how deeply our community cares about our schools,” said Lonny Kolln, Board President of the Council Bluffs Schools Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and partnered with us to make the evening such a success. Their support directly impacts students, teachers, and families throughout our district.”

The funds raised during Cheers for CB Schools! will help the Foundation continue its mission of supporting the children, families, and staff of the Council Bluffs Community School District.

“Cheers for CB Schools! is truly a community effort,” said Bridgette Watson, Executive Director of the Council Bluffs Schools Foundation. “We want to thank our sponsors, vendors, musicians, volunteers, and every person who joined us for the evening. Because of this incredible support, we are able to continue investing in the success of our students and educators.”
